HopeWorks’ Volunteer Program is supportive of the organization’s two-pronged mission: providing support and advocacy for people in Howard County affected by sexual and intimate partner violence and developing the community engagement necessary for primary prevention.
If you love to build relationships, share your enthusiasm for a cause, and impact the resources available to a nonprofit, this position may be right for you. Legal Services Volunteers help provide much-needed advocacy services for potential clients within the Howard County Court System. Interested volunteers do not need to have prior experience with the legal system but must have an interest in providing support and resources to clients in crisis. All legal Service Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age. Volunteers must complete the Volunteer application, background check, an in-person interview, Step 1 Training and the Legal Service Volunteer Training.
HopeWorks is seeking multiple volunteers to fill this ongoing volunteer positions. After successfully completing training, volunteers may sign up to shadow a legal advocate or volunteer in order to determine if this area is the best fit for them.
- Volunteer would report to the director of the legal department
- Hours are scheduled based on volunteer's availability. Hours for volunteering are M-F 1-3 at the Howard County District Court in Ellicott City, MD.
