Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation of program-wide systems to improve school efficiency, and to
ensure the students’ successful mastery of IEP goals and objectives
Training, supervision and evaluation of related service providers in collaboration with the
Education Director and Administrative Head
Plans, develops, and implements IEPs in accordance with communication goals and
Manages all aspects of communication services caseload
Manages student behavior according to Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and best
practices to encourage the best possible student therapeutic experience
Interacts with and participates in consultations with supervisors, teachers, family, members, and specialists as appropriate
Trains staff and family members regarding various communication issues (e.g. augmentative
communication, communication development, special needs of specific populations, etc.)
Prepares appropriate documentation and reports on student progress consistent with state
and federal regulations for Medicaid reimbursement
Monitor and complete MSDE compliance documents for the school as assigned.
Audit monthly related service logs and ensure services are being delivered in accordance
with each student’s IEP
Maintain regular communication with the Education Director and Administrative Head and
ensure compliance with COMAR regulations related to non-public educational services.
Develop and implement training protocols for related service providers, Linwood Center
staff, and parents
Provide group and individual consultation to the Related Services Department
Ensure collaboration between the Behavior Services Department and the Related Services
Provide regular service delivery observations and feedback for related services providers
Collaborate with Related Services Supervisors of other MANSEF schools as needed
Participate in trainings/seminars/continuing education in order to maintain current best practices
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
May perform other duties as assigned.
This position has supervisory responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
Must have at least (5) years’ experience as Speech and Language Pathologist or Occupational Therapist
A current certification in the state of Maryland as a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist or Occupational Therapist
Must have at least (5) years’ experience in a public and/or nonpublic school
Must have at least (3) years’ supervisory experience
Demonstrates knowledge of the IEP process and the skillset to support the development and implementation of students’ IEPs.
A skillset that includes the ability to interface in a professional manner with Linwood staff, parents, school system personnel and other professionals.
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
