HopeWorks’ Volunteer Program is supportive of the organization’s two-pronged mission: providing support and advocacy for people in Howard County affected by sexual and intimate partner violence and developing the community engagement necessary for primary prevention. If you love to build relationships, share your enthusiasm for a cause, and impact the resources available to a nonprofit, this position may be right for you.
Childcare Volunteers help provide much-needed on-site childcare for our clients. Volunteers can play games, read stories, and create art while supervising children during parent counseling sessions, residential or advocacy appointments, or engagement events. Volunteers are needed during the day and evenings, Monday - Friday and occasionally on the weekends.
All Childcare Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Volunteers must complete the Volunteer application, background check, an in-person interview, Step 1 Training, and the Childcare Volunteer Training. HopeWorks is seeking multiple volunteers to fill these ongoing volunteer positions.
After successfully completing training, volunteers may sign up to provide childcare for clients on either an on-going or one-time basis, depending on the client and their needs.
• Volunteer would report to Volunteer Program Coordinator and the Deputy Director
