An adult and youth literacy and workforce development program, which offers nationally recognized and state-registered electric construction industry pre-apprenticeship programs that includes training to prepare candidates for Electrical and Telecommunications Technician apprenticeship programs and to become employer-ready. We are a Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Eligible Training Provider.
The program offers an integrated service delivery model, leveraged by a 360 degree case management system that includes: academic enrichment, career services, evidence-based life skills training, financial wellness, trainee mentoring, trade skills training, supportive and wrap around services.
Our program sponsor, IEC Chesapeake, Inc., implements a nationally recognized electrical industry apprenticeship program that is directly linked to 90+ electrical industry employers.
Additionally, we offer post-program support which includes an alumni program, providing career placement assistance with industry employers and serves as an assist to eliminate new hire anxiety.
We also offer Maker Ed/STEAM To Career programs to expose middle and high school girls to non-traditional careers in the construction industry.
