Board Development Programs

ACS is committed to supporting the important role that Boards play in realizing the missions of the organizations they serve through our Board Development Programs.

  • Board Development Institute offers a series of specialized on-site training sessions that can be best delivered during Board meetings or retreats. These 30-60 minute presentations are available in the areas of governance, fundraising, strategic planning, organization oversight and succession planning.  They are designed to ensure that all Board Members are well-grounded in the skills they need to be maximally effective.
  • The Board Bank, a joint effort of The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County, the Association of Community Services, and Leadership Howard County, connects individuals with volunteer leadership positions on local non-profit and governmental boards expressing a need for their specific skills, talents and interests.  Information from the forms below is used to help make the match between interested individuals and organizations.
