The Policy Analysis Center will release the findings of a new ACS commissioned report entitled Making Ends Meet in Howard County 2011, prepared by researchers from the Johns Hopkins Institute for Policy Studies.  Making Ends Meet outlines the challenges that Howard County's working poor face as they try to increase their income; as small salary/hourly wage increases can result in the loss of public supports leaving families even further away from economic self-sufficiency. In addition, a demographic and employment profile of working poor individuals and households in Howard County is provided and paths to achieving self-sufficiency outlined.  After the presentation, the audience will be invited to join smaller breakout groups to further discuss strategies to address some of the issues raised by this report.

This meeting is planned for our members,
but open to the public.
